REMOTE CONTROL
Turn on tune
in veg out
Free will is on its way out
All your free time
you watch TV
I bet you forgot how to read
Televised social
control
You are under the remote control
Society feeds
you its conformists ideal
The latest fashions and the medias lies
Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Keeps you toiling obediently
A consumer slave
Television
is probably the single most pervasive instrument
of social control in modern society, The insidious thing about
television is that so many millions of people choose to spend
hour after hour in front of it. With the average American
watching something like four hours of television a day its no
wonder that American society remains so obediant and
complacent. Big Brother doesn´t need to put checkpoints
on
every corner or listen in on every conversation when the
populace so readily chooses to pacify itself and stay ignorant.
PHYRRIC VICTORY
Young idealist
Joins party and the struggle
Subjects their will
To the party's discipline
Place your
faith in leaders
You become a pawn
Place your faith in leaders
You become what you despise
Demagogues
and sycophants
Dictate your every thought
Obedience to the party line
Ensures your submission
Peoples victory
finally arrives
But liberation is tyranny
A new regime
More oppressive than the last
Place your
faith in leaders
You become a pawn
Place your faith in leaders
Become what you despise
Time and
time again we see the young idealist (usually a
student) sucked into the world of leftist polictics. Following
others
orders and dogma blindly they become as brainwashed as any
cult member. Constantly sacrificing individual rights to the
party
and authority it is little wonder that Marxist revolutions always
end in tyranny and bloodshed.
PREY IN SCHOOL
Locked inside
Prison with no bars
American highschool
You´re here to learn the rules
Learn to conform
Learn to obey
Live by the bell
Do as they say
Forced into
a mold
Of middle class students
Productive worker/student
Someone else´s pawn
If you dissent
Dare to rebel
The authorities will send you
To institutional hell
Homogenized
Socialized
Individuality
Stigmatized
Sent to a reform
school
Special learning institution
Christian concentration camp
Private psychiatric prison
Parents shrinks
and counselors
Think you have a problem
It´s called self expression
Natural youth rebellion
You have no
more rights
Under their control
Pump you full of drugs
Will brainwash prevail
Society´s
last chance
To grind you down
You will make it to 18
If your mind is strong
Almost all
of us had to attend high school, most of us hated it.
We probably all had a friend who just couldn´t cope with
the
regimentation and brainwashing and was sent to a psychiatric
institution to "straighten them out." Thousands of
such institutions
exist. Parents and shrinks convinced that their conformist
children are somehow mentally-ill fill them with
drugs and send them to institutions that are guaranteed to drive
their kids crazy.
DEATH FOR VANITY
There´s
a models face on cover of a book
That she wrote telling women how to look
But behind the lipstick smile and mascara eyes
No on hears the agonized cries of the animals
On which the makeup is tested
Burning skin
corroded eyes
Concealed by corporation lies
They say these tests are needed
But they don´t tell you how the animals
Are treated
Their suffering
will protect against
Any lawsuit filled
These test
are pointless but you don´t care
They just sell the makeup that you wear
No animals can stand in their way
Of human progress today
The makeup that you wear is dripping blood
These companies
must be stopped
But they never will
As long as you buy the makeup they sell
There is something you can do
Relize the bucks stops with you
Only buy makeup that´s cruelty free
Or don´t bother with the shit at all
DEATH FOR VANITY
II
Knuckles torn
and bloody
From going down your throat
Nausea and Starvation
In a quest for unobtainable beauty
Society dictates
Conformist standards of appaerence
Its models and movie stars
Surgically altered and engineered
Eating disorders
are societal
A product of patriarchy
Women conditioned from an early age
Please men satisfy their gaze
A deadly race to keep up
With the prettiest girls in school
Turns into a nightmare life
Of starvation and bulimia
We must learn
to accept
Our peers as what they are
Rather than hold them to
Socially dictated fantasy standard
When punks
rebel against society
We must rebel against its rules and roles
Peer pressure
and socialization drive many young women to
starve themselves in order to CONFORM to artificial movie
star standars of beauty. Many die as result of eating
disorders and thousands more are physically and mentally
scarred for life. While society recognizes such disorders as
harmful the constant brainwashing propaganda is still
allpervasive in the media, fashion and beauty industries
SALVATION IN
DEATH
You seek deaths
finality
To escape lifes banality
Fate pre-ordained does not have to be
Seize control of you destiny
With frustration
and pain your world is rife
Consider the taking of your own life
Locked in a vicious circle of depression
Time to rise above this abysmal retrogression
End it in a
second with a blade or a gun
Or kill yourself slowly with alcohol and drugs
We are captains
at the helm
As we sail the seas of fate
A fact to many realize
When its far too late
You´ll
rot in your grave
You know you won´t be saved
At end to lifes travails
With your last breath
There is no salvation
Salvation in death
This Death
Metal Epic is about suicide and individual will
versus pre-ordained fate. "There is no god to hear your
prayer, there is no evil lord, only fools would trade this life,
for
a mythic netherworld". A glimps of a more metallic and
poetic DESTROY that could have been.
HYSTERIA
Red scare
Could war
Racial tension
Drug war
Hysteria hysteria hysteria
Psychology of mass control
The state
and its allies in the media need an enemy, real or
perceived to justify their repressive actions. Just like the
"two
minutes hate" in Orwell´s 1984 mass hysteria is used
to whip the
people into a frenzy or fear and anxiety against an external
enemy or an internal menace. By polarizing issues in terms of
law
abiding society vs. a dangerous foreign element government
ensures the full co-operation of the public in repressive measure
against dissent. Some historical examples include the Red
Scare of 1919-1021, the trials of Sacco and Vanzetti or the
Rosenbergs, anti-immigrant and anti-minority rhetoric and the
continuing erosion of individual rights disguised as a war on
drug
use.
BURN DOWN THE
MALL
Smash the spectacle
Of consumer society
Burn down the mall
Loot burn and destroy
Mall of America
Burn down the mall
Minnesota
is now home of the worlds largest shopping mall. This
monument to a wasteful consumer society is so ascetically
repulsive it makes me want to destroy without a pity. While the
lyrics to these songs may touch to many POLITICAL and social
problems you will notice they offer few solutions. Suspicious
as
I am of any organized political grouping or ideology I offer
a
simple five letter solution - ARSON!
CROWD CONTROL
Be happy and
complacement
Conform and consume
Dance as the ship goes down
Your society is doomed
Pay your money
stand in line
Like sheep in a semon rapt, yet blind
Right where
they want you
You are controlled
Everything´s under
Under control
All the latest
hits
To keep you in your place
Decadent yuppie larva
Swallow is blindly
A smile on their face
Songs all written on computers
There´s no musicians
Only actors and performers
Circus Maximus
Spins round and round
Mesmerized by the spectacle
As it drags you down
Music is an industry
With packed products to sell
Rock and Disco for the middle class
Rap and Metal for the teens who think they
Rebel
Music is a safety value
A method of social control
An outlet for your energy
Your rebellion is on hold
Right where
they want you
You are controlled
Everythings under
Under control
Anyone who
has attended an "arena rock" spectacle has
probably noticed the quasi-religious nature of the event.
While religion was once the opium of the masses-the drug
that kept them ignorant, obedient and happy - today it is
popular culture. And what element of popular culture is more
integral to the lives of (especially young) people than
music. Our preferences in music define our style, our leisure
activities, the people we associate with and ultimatley our
thought and behaviour. While popular music is nothing but a
soundtrack to subservience, punk remains a vibrant under-
ground almost twenty years after its rise. The true rebellious
nature of Rock and Roll has been constantly repackaged and
sold to the public. This corporate rebellion of the metaller
and the
rapper is a sad joke serving only to divert any rebellious impulse
of the youth into mindless hero-worship and self destruction.
GOD SQUAD
Oh shit its
the god squad
Say that i need jesus christ
To save me from this worthless life
Stop this sin and get a wife
Say that Aids
has come
Like a plague on the Egyptians
We need a fucking disease
For all the uptight christians
Preach ancient
mythology
Support the church hypocrisy
I wish that you would stay away from me
Why don´t
you just leave me be
Your message isn´t reaching me
Stay away from me
This song
was inspired by real life experiences of being constantly
harassad by jesus freaks on campus as a young student.
Something about being a green haired punk rocker seemed to
constantly attract them. I even painted "stay away"
on my vest for
a while. At least I could vent my frustrations in song
DEATH OF A
GENERATION
Europe´s
innocence was in the streets
Its guilt was in the cabinets
Statesmen lead the masses
Forward to their doom
Death of a
generation
What a price glory
Youths optimism
shattered
In the kindermord
Millions of voices silenced
A war to end all wars
From the fields
of the Somme
To the fortress of Verdun
A generation crushed
By the fury of modern war
This song
was inspired by two book about the First World War by
Alastair Home Death of a generation and What price Glory. From
our vantage point in the late 20th Century we are de-sensitized
to
the sheer horror of the mass slaughter that we now know as the
first
of two World Wars. The study of history reveals terror and suffering
on a scale previously inconceivable and compounded upon ever
since.
THE REVOLUTION
WILL NOT BE ANALOG
Just as firearms
Gave the peasant a tool against the knight
So the computer is our lever against
The oppressor
Digital Revolutionaries
Wreck Havoc in cyberspace
Sabotage from within
Leaving not a trace
Our revolution
will not be analog
Products of
the info-age
Raised on technology
The future is now
For the cyberpunk
Shockwave riders
At war with tyranny
Boxes, chips and fiber optics
Stock the armory
One for
the cyberpunks and phreaks out there. The system can be
attacked by many means. Just as David was able to defeat Golitaht
by means of a sling and superior will so too can the rebel defeat
the
system by superior use of its own technology. "The capitalist
will
gladly sell you the very rope you intend to hang him with."
NECROPOLIS
The rich fled
to the suburbs
And the jobs fled overseas
Now urban life has crumbled
And the city´s under siege
Working class and ethic bastions
Broke up and atomized
Soulles urband spawl
Leaves us isolated and dehumanized
Miles and miles
of ghetto
And boarded up empty homes
As rich suburbs creep ever outwards
In search of an empty aesthetic
Spectacular capitalist culture
Has reduced us to common slaves
Plug in culture broadcast into suburbian homes
Replaces the vibrant culture of the city
A hundred expressways
out of town
With no destination
One way ticket out
Of a forsaken civilization
Fortress suburbia
Safe from percieved decline
Is instead a stage
For abuse neglect and dysfunctional
Poverty and
despair
Crime drugs and homelessness
Metropole crumbles to dust
Why live in a city already dead?
Squatters punks and outcasts
Rule the ruins of tomorrow today
Scraping a living from the empires fall
Thriving of urban decay
America´s
cities stand as monuments to a disposable
lifetstyle. Those who can afford too flee to the suburbs in
droves and leave the inner city to decay and die. The
artificial reality of the suburbs with their consumer aestetic
only serves as a facade for decline. There is still life and
movement in the ruins. Beneath the surface lurk the
"troops of tomorrow" the disenfranchised, the urban
pioneer.
Someday the thin veneer of order will crumble away
and these elements will rise to the surface.
WAR WITHOUT
MERCY
Theories of
Mitchell and Douhet
AAF to vindicate
Strategic bombardment
Shall obliterate
Unseen enemy
Another culture a diffrent race
Raining death above
Never see a human face
War- With no
mercy
War- With no mercy
Home islands
cities all to raze
One by one set ablaze
Tokyo consumed by fire
As falls the sun god´s empire
Rising sun
is falling down
Cities burnt to the ground
Commerce rainding in the seas
This is with no mercy
Rascist propaganda
Inflames war hysteria
Modern war´s full fury unleashed
Power of the atom bomb released
Nagasaki, Hiroshima, August ´45
Two cities levelled
Tens of thousands die
This song
takes its name from a book
examining the racist natire of Americas war on Japan 1941-45.
MCMLXVIII
War ragin cities
burning
Violence in the streets
Long hot summer days of rage
Youths in full revolt
Black Panthers young lords example for today
Paris, Prauge,
Belfast and Mexico the fight for
Freedom´s waged
Nineteen sixty
eight nineteen sixty eight
For one heroic
year revolution was in grasp
But yesterdays rebels are oppressors of today
From these days of decision there are
Lessons to be learned
The state has learned its lesson
Its time that we learns ours
The revolutionary
movement in the west seemed to reach a
new peak in 1968. An entire generation was radicalized and
mobilized for social change. The powers that be managed to
freeze out this rebllion through the use of a brute force, a
flood
of drugs, token reforms and co-option of many figurehead
leaders. The response to the LA reballion shows that the state
has learned to deal with urband revolt . Our continued freedom
to openly dissent shows that the state has also learned to
accept a certain level of organized resistance. However, once
this level of resistance or dissent becoms a threatening except
to share the fate of the Branc Davidians, Mohawk Indians, or
MOVE.
MISERY
The world is
just a game played by you
Everyone can be twisted to bow before you
* I am the master and your are the slave *
Your ego-bound power trip fills me with rage
Why won´t
you ever let me be
All you ever do is shit on me
The more you tell me what to do
The more I´m going to say * Fuck You! *
To use and
abuse is the way of the game
Blinded by glory and dillusions of fame
Trampling those around you: Means to an end
I´m exposing your fucked up ways which you
Can´t defend
I won´t
be ripped apart by your cut-downs
The situation is changed I´m ending it right now
Where once was friendship now there is pain
Now it´s my turn to attack and expose your shame
It´s
all over now: Been brought to an end
Too blind to see anything, you won´t be relent
A new circle of followers to bend to your will
Another set of * friends * to make their lives
a living hell.
Unfortunatley
at this present moment in history, humankind has
yet to find a suitable solution for dealing with power-mongers
hell-bent on to controlling our lives. Occasionally, we are all
subject
to their thaunts, insult and lies, which this song is about.
This is
a very personal song about overcoming a brush with such asshole
...a song I think too many people can relate to. Don´t
let the bastards
grind you down!
ALL AMERICAN
WORKING CLASS HERO
The worst kind
of slave
Believes he is free
You have been bought off
By consumer society
Pretension
to middle class
Ruin working class solidarity
Grope for trappings of affluence
As your real wages decline
When you´re fortyfive
And they can´t use you no more
Give you a pink slip and point you to the door
A mindless pawn of capital
A slave to the man
Obeyed their rules
Played their game
Believed their promises
All of them lies
Now you join
the others
On the welfare line
Fill out their forms lick their boots
For a check each month
To keep you from starving
Just another tool to buy you off
Ensure your dependance on the state
In your ignorance you´ll never rebel
And with your dying breath you´ll still blame
Yourself
The American
worker. Never in history has anyone been
more duped into accepting their own oppression. Is the caged
animal in a larger cage any more free than one in a cage so
small it cannot turn around ?
DOGFIGHT
Man´s
best friend or so its said
A noble dog
Lies bloody and dead
Victims of a mindless sport
Practiced by the ignorant sort
Bred and trained
To kill their own kind
Inhumane puppy mills
And brutal training
Forced into the pit and death
Cruel minded
scum
Place their bets
And the dogs tear at
Eachothers flesh
Only a sadist could delight
In such carnage
The cops don´t
care
It´s a good old boy thing
And the dogs die senselessy in the ring
When the cops hassle the punks
Don´t they always threaten to shoot our dogs
All too
often the US animal rights movement focuses on the
abuses of farm animals or endagered species. Dog fighting,
though illegal, is very widespread and leads to the abusing and
death of thousands of dogs each year. Punks and dogs have
a special relationship and we should look for our canine
compatriots. Bloodsports must be stopped.
SWORD OF DAMOCLES
Media fills
our eyes and ears
With vision of violent streets
Surely the decline of the family
Has lead to a decay of society
But these family values
Are values of dysfunction
The most violent place in America
Is inside the home
Children molested and abused
Spouses beaten and raped
Where can you run or hide
When the killing fields are your home
Blackened eyes and broken teeth
Still return for more
Vicious circle of dependancy
Will it end in death?
My experiences
growing up poor being raised by a single
mother pale in comparation to the horror stories from many
friends who grew up in well to do, happy, suburbian families.
According to hospital statistics patients treated for injuries
resulting from violence are primarily victims of domestic violence
not random crime. Most rape victims were not assaulted
on the street but raped by an acquaintance. The true levels of
physical and sexual abuse are difficult to quantify statistically
but with so many of my friends telling me stories of vicimization
I think it is a far greater problem than we care to admit.
WAR ON WANKERS
When your band
started out
We thought you were the shit
Bought your records, booked your shows
´Cos you were down with the scene
Our support
and loyalty
Took you really far
Record deals, world wide tours
You´ll be the next big star
Used the punk
scene as a stepping stone
Become a major label star
When the limelight fades
We´ll remember who you are
Sign to a major
label
Play commercial shit
Claim credit for being underground
While distancing yourselves from us
Now the critics
love you
Your career is at it´s peak
But as your ego grows
Your music gets more weak
Used the punk
as a stepping stone
Become a major label star
When the limelight fades
We remeber who you are
Lost all your
creativity
No one likes you any more
And we won´t be fooled
By your nostalgic comeback tour
You´re
just another sellout
We never needed anyway
We´ll stay true to the underground
Long after you fade away
Ironically
this song was written just a few months before "pop punk"
exploded into the media spotlight. Taking a cue from the
great 1983 NOTA song War on Wankers I wrote this rant
about sell out bands. My prescience was matched only by the
delays in releasing this album. You´ll notice I don´t
name any
band names in this song. You, the listener, can think up your
own.
STOP THINKING
AND FOLLOW
Unimportant
undistinguished
Lost with no identity
You want power
You crave authority
Stop thinking
and follow
Individual
will
Submitted to the mass
Conform and blindly follow
Like brownshirts of the past
From your own fear of humiliation
You try to hide
Try to pick the winning side
Choose your
ideology
When you choose your gang
Imitate their beliefs
Dress and slang
You stick together
Source of your pride
Agression domination
Builds inside
Conformist
group
False sense of superiority
Afraid to admit
Your own inferiority
Judgement and condemnation
Are your deepest fears
Set out to prove yourself
In the eyes of your peers
You rape and
rob
And victimize the meek
Fighting ten on one
To hide the fact that you´re weak
Doc Marten boots
Shaven head
Stop thinking and follow
Your mind is dead
This is
an older song inspired by my observations of a
skinhead gang war in Minneapolis in the late 80´s. The
closer
one looks the less one sees dividing the mentality of the
average Nazi-bonehead from the average SHARP skin. While
a few skinheads continue to surprise me by thinking for themselves,
the majority remain an ignorant and pathetic lot. Mentally crippled
and insecure their only recourse is to bury their
identity in a conformist subculture based on an idealized
characture to late 60´s English soccer hooligans. Recent
years
seem to have seen fewer skinheads associating with the Punk/Hardcore
scene. I can only hope this trend continues.
LAID TO WASTE
The sky is
black with clouds of flame
Europe´s cities blaze
Total war strategic
bombing
Cities laid to waste
Gurenica, and
London
Rotterdam, Dresden
Terror..Bombing..Total...War
Burning cities

Millions die for leaders conquests
Cities laid...Laid
to waste
Around the
turn of the century there was some movement
towards banning aerial warfare in the same way poison gas
and exploding bullets are prohibited from use in war. However,
experience with the tactical use of the airplane in war proved
it was an invaluable addition to a Nations arsenal.
Some experimation with strategic bombing was conducted
in the First World War but it was not until the bombing
of Guernica in the Spanish Civil War that its true meaning
was grasped. The Second World war was truly a total war.
Every citizen was a combatant and every home a target.
Whole cities were destroyed with the aim of instilling terror
rather than disabling any military target. After the war the
Strategic Bombing Survey and other studies concluded that
this massive effort was of little military value. Strategic
bombing´s only saving grace was the developement of nuclear
weapons. A development which threatens the existence of
our planet to this day.
RENDER UNTO

BANALITY OF
EVIL
A number a
uniform and anonymity
Rank a gun and vague authority
Yesterdays victim, todays armed bully
Sadistic revenge against society
Banality of
evil, no fucking excuse
Commit your
vile atrocities
When your crimes are exposed for all to see
You utter som shit abouts evil´s banality
Doing your job doing your duty
Uniformed thugs
with power obsesed
Try to pass the buck for your excess
Acted under orders, under duress
You loved every moment why don´t you confess
Those were
your days of glory
Your finest hour
Revelling in the glory
Of your new found power
But your taste of domination
Will soon grow sour
The past catches up
With every hour
GET USED TO
IT
Gay and proud
and in your face
Coming out every place
Provokes your violent aggression
From the direction of another´s affection
Might make
you feel uncomfortable
You might think it´s strange
But you´d better be used to it
´Cos it never gonna change
Your cruel
jokes and violent behavior
Reveal bigoted sexual insecurity
Discriminatory behavior
Of dominant hetero society
What if hetero
males
Were the victims and not the queer nation
Maybe then we´d see
Some appaels of toleration
Get used to it!
GYNOCIDE

Such has been the woman´s fate

Victims of patriarchy, victims of tradition

But does not the same terror
Reign on our streets at night?
Today in Africa

Is brutaliy imposed to enforce submission
Crippling brutal mutilation
To enforce male domination
Barbaric clitorectomy
To enforce patriarchy
Indian woman

Their husband they cannot survive
Woman treated like property
Sold and murdered for their dowry
I know I´m
supposed to understand
Cultural differences
But there´s no way to justify
These barbaric pratices

You raise up the rent drive up the price of beer
Yuppies don´t like the sight of me
They call their slaves the police
I outran your fat servants
For the second time this week
I hope you like punk rock
Better hide your car
There´s a party on your block
The suburbs are for you
Stay the fuck out there
Wanna gentrify my neighborhood
Yuppie beware
SANTA-GOD
Do you believe
in Santa Claus?
Do you believe in god?
Are you bound by christianity
Or another trite mythology
What´s
your god done for you lately?
Did he pay your rent or just save you from your
sins?
Have you heard
from Allah christ or the
Great pumpkin?
The opium of the masses keeps you ignorant
And blind
Time to realize
that religion´s nothing more
Than a futil attempt to explain what we
Cannot understand
With superstition and fairy tales
CHILDREN´S
CRUSADE
We are the
new youth crew
Take a look at this tattoo
Time has come to deal with you
´Cos we saw you drinking brew
United and bald you and me
United against conformity
Straight and clean is the way
Deviate and you will pay
Harken to the
righteous tirade
Join up with the children´s crusade
Moving from
the suburbs to the lower
East Side
Middle class youth display their working
Class pride
When mom and dad say its just a phase
Straight til death is what I´ll say
Will the crusader still be straight
When he´s old enough to graduate
WE´RE
STRONG TO THE FINISH ´COS WE EATS OUR SPINACH
We don´t
eat cows
We don´t eat pigs
We don´t eat sheep
But our muscles are big
If you want to be big and strong like us
Eating your veggies is a must
TOTAL FUCKING
CHAOS
Blood for the
blood gods!
Speeding cross the tundra
On our cro-moly steeds
We valiantly ride forth
To do chaotic deeds
Spreading devastation
In our knobby studded path
No feeble mortal yuppie shall escape our
Awesome wrath
Forget nothing
forgive no-one
Blazin molten
metal forged in the depths
of Hell
The hordes increase as our mighty force
swell
Rabidly possessed with malevolent fury
Get out of our way we´re in a fucking hurry
Forged in the
maelstrom we are chaos spawn
Riding out of darkness and onto your lawn
Crushing your bones under our tires
Tempered by evil in the blood god´s fires
In our wake
follow the beasts
Blood of our victims shall become their feast
Slaves to masters bound by no laws
Those who defy shall perish in their jaws
US VS. THE
WORLD II
You call us
an elitist crew
Because we got no faith in you
Kick ass to any nazi who´ll give you a brew
We´ve got better things to do
FUCKING ALTERNATIVE
Fucking alternative!
Grab a beer someone pass out
Fucking Punk Rock!
DOOM OF THE
GREEDY
The owner grins
blandly as he watches
The workers toil
Groaning under the crack of the whip
As they plant seeds in the soil
Land that should be theirs
But the company owns it all
Now the heat grows unbearable
As the works slows to a crawl
Multinational
corporations
Exploitation of the starving nations
Rob them of their food, land and pride
Reaping profits off those who die
Growing coffee
rather than food
Their lies owned by the master
Sweating and starving in the dirt
Forced to work the crops faster
As he threatens to cut wages
Already they hardly survive
But he can find more cheap labor
So he drives them until they die
Some workers
wait in a hut
Revenge they can take no more
Time to smash down the greedy
With a plan they have in store
They arm with sticks and torches
Set fire to his house and crops
He staggers out screaming from the blaze
And they beat him until he drops
